The ‘innocent’ appetizers of porn addiction.

Apparently, only 10% of guys admit to watching porn; Which can range from online previews to those ‘innocent’ google searches for naughty pics. And since I’m speaking out of experience, [yes… guilty as charged] I do know how shameful & disappointed one feels after accomplishing his task.[Forgive me for the parable speech].

And since I’m speaking as a man who shares a similar predicament, I do know that this resounding 90% of guys are trying to break the chains of this seductive obsession that catches us unawares. And though there’s no medicine for this, we know that one way or another, we’ll have to figure a way out.

But to tackle this problem, we have to investigate the unconcious deeds we do that draw us back to this vice every time we try to get out. Because the biggest obstacle to a recovering porn addict is ‘backsliding’ over & over again; & this piles the guilt in our conscience so much so that you tend to become numb to love (& sex)!

And now that I realize that I’ll have to write numerous articles in regards to porn, for now I’ll deal with the unconcious & ‘innocent’ triggers that are all over thanks to a select group of women who just love to ‘use sex’ as a tool to draw attention to themselves: so where are these triggers mainly positioned?

1)On the Streets.
I was brought up in a small decent town, but university studies prompted me to move to the big city(Nairobi). And this is where we find young ladies who were recently liberated from the clutches of parental monitoring & control.
And since ladies fashion is rapidly being dominated by more sex & less decency, one can’t help but notice the ‘indecency everywhere’.

What’s more torturing is that we as men are visually aroused. From the goodies concealed in tight attire to those scanty ‘things’, temptation seems inevitable as long as your eyes are open.So if you compile the instances that you notice cleavages, bums, bare smooth legs & thighs everyday, you can do the math as to how many times you’re tempted every 24hrs.

Then consider all that sexual urge & pressure that’s built up within you at the end of the day. So what’s a guy who’s single/alone/a loser/a terrible lover/hopelessly in love to do? Hmmmh?…

2)In the Media.
Media houses really make me laugh when they issue these parental control warnings right after a ‘general viewing’ programme is over. Or better still, I wonder why they issue those warnings if their effectiveness isn’t witnessed on the ground.

Because whether a programme is mean’t for general audience or 21yrs, you won’t miss a visual ‘appetizer’. Like for instance, a wedding show sounds innocent right? Then when your mind is cleansed & your trousers are settled then ‘Bam!’. Two minutes later, that’s followed by some few ‘Wow!’s & ‘Mamamia!’s here & there.

Then when the show is over & some few ‘temptation points’ have been added here & there, one can’t help but wish that those memories would just fade away.

Because these memories will automatically keep on re-surfacing over & over again during those lazy daydreaming moments. In the end, one way or another, you’ll regretably find yourself back to square one.

2)Online
So let’s say you’re on any social networking site & you’re tagged in this ‘errotic pose’ pic by a chic who asks you;
‘Don’t I just look sexy?’
Oh yes dear-thankyou for that rhetoric question! ~Temptation points added…

Or… you may have ‘mistakenly convinced yourself’ to visit a porn site during your rehab & some semi-nude chic poses there with a warning that reads;
‘Warning; pornographic content! Please click YES to enter or NO to exist…’ then below there there’s some US law that no one cares about… anyway, we do know how that story ends, right?
~Temptation points added…

Or… let’s say you’ve been ‘sent a friend request’ by a chic who’s profile pic is her legs/cleavage/bum… & yes they love the attention, whether you click ‘yes’ or ‘no’. ~Temptation points added…

So guys what I’m trying to say here is… just look for help from someone who’s in the same fate as you’re & share your experience with him. Because, trust me… the world is on a downward spiral towards more ‘sexually tempting anarchy’ (if there’s a word like that.)

And always remember, quiters never win & winners never quit!

  1. Thank you for your honest and interesting post. As a woman, I will tell you honestly – WE HAVE the same or similar issues. This is not a gender bias. This is our world and it would be smart to admit it! I love you post. I think you have a great deal of honest to dole out and hope that others see it too! THANK YOU!

    1. Thankyou for the ‘honesty’ badge.
      As for the gender bias, I think you’re right in regards to having some women as porn addicts.However, it’s not as prevalent among women as it is among men. Or maybe, these women are better than men at hiding their addiction…
